The promise of getting outdoors soon.

This weekend we spent a beautiful afternoon warming Pidge's lovely Godparents new house which is nearly finished. They have lots of exciting plans for their garden. Pidge got outside, he can always find some nature to marvel at.

Pidge loves all dogs especially Vanessa's dog, because he can't run away from the Pidge love. What is his name Vanessa?

  Pidge is happiest when he has a stick, even when he is taking important phone calls.

Brendan and Vanessa have some awesome, ingenious shelves, if I'm lucky maybe they'll let me take a picture of my favorite one soon. It is the shelf with cups on. Thank you for a lovely day, we love your new house! XX

Get outside challenge

We love getting outside Pidge the dudeling has to be forced to come inside to eat meals, a lot of the time we are just tending our own garden or seeing to Charlie horses needs. Pidge loves to fetch Dandelions for Hunny bunny and Smudgie bunny to savour.

He's been making some outdoor fashion statements. Grandma's pink slippers are essential for riding on his tractor.

We were really glad to see this handsome old gentleman friend of ours outside enjoying the sunshine because he is very poorly. We think the sunshine was lovely and healing.

Get outdoors goes to the city.

We have been getting outdoors all day, every day the weather has been so darn lovely, but it is the same chores everyday. This weekend we were invited to go punting on the river Camb by Pidge's lovely Godparents. So we got outside to see some nature.

New life was springing abundant on the river, all the trees were blossoming, this little baby Moorhen was sitting on his own little raft of leaves wiggling his tiny little wings. His Mama was keeping an eye on that cheeky duck.

 We saw a lovely duck family.

Aunty Vanessa took a turn punting.

Little Dude really liked messing about in boats.

The sun shone so brightly.

We saw all the beautiful architecture of the colleges. What a perfect day!XX

Day Eight and Nine and thrifty weekend part one

Yesterday we were very proud to be picture of the day over at  5 orange potatoes where we are playing the get outdoors challenge. We might have to rename it the "can we pretty please pop indoors for five minutes Pidge, Mama is starving". This weekend was the most thrifty weekend ever. The first two bargains are conspiring to keep us outdoors, we are eating breakfast facing away from the window so the small dude cannot see these before he finishes his cereal.

A super slide and play house that was for sale in our village. Bargain!

And this tractor, which is a bit beat up but Pidge loves it! We have kindly (ha ha) taken it to Grandma's garden as there is more space to ride it!

We have been stalking some obliging nature, which stayed nice and still while I snapped away!

We will be back with more super thrifty bargains if Pidge will let me go inside to photograph them. We are loving getting outside, we hope you are too. XX      

Day Six and Seven

Sand, pretty much sums up days six and seven of the Get Outdoors Challenge. Pidge can be found in his sand pit all the time, in fact it is getting hard to tempt him inside for meals and sleep. 

 

  We scored some fantastic thrifty finds which will be appearing in a blog soon. There is a little Pidge who is desperate to get outside now. Back soon XX

Get outdoors challenge Day Five

Such a nice day we spent so much time outdoors, the weather just gets better and better. Pidge worked super hard on the yard with Mama.

He rode all the way up to the paddocks in the barrow and all the way back, through all the sloshy muddy puddles. He spotted a beautiful hot air ballon but we hadn't taken the camera. He is such a good helper. It was nearly dark and he was still outside with Papa and his tricycle.

When Pidge finally came indoors he was so hungry he ate mountains of lovely dinner made by Grandad Drums. What a good day we all had.  

Day four

Superb weather, glorious for drying laundry, hunting for ladybirds, sitting in the sand pit all day and taking long walks with Gran.


   

Get outdoors challenge! Day 3

Today, was drizzly and cold out and we had so many errands to run. We finally broke free and got outdoors to see Hunny and Smudgie bunny are to bring them their dinner at the very end of the day. 



    

Day Two

Today we were so lucky, the sun shone and the thermometer crawled up to 21 degrees. What a lovely day. When we went to visit first born horse, we investigated all around the yard to see what is there everyday and took time to notice things. We heard the wind in the willow trees, and saw the birds building their nests in the barn. We saw the yard cats sleeping on the straw.

Here Pidge is investigating the velvety green moss on the gate to the horses field.

Later in the day when there was almost no light left, Papa arrived home after making a very special detour to pick up this vintage tricycle for Pidge. He has admired every bicycle he has seen for weeks. His excitement on seeing it come out of the car was priceless. It is all metal, no plastic in sight and has a little hopper with a handle to tip it, he can very nearly reach the pedals and he is in love. There were only a few minutes to get a picture before the sun said goodbye, unfortunately Pidge didn't look at the camera but it's a cracking shot of the tricycle though!
